As the epidemiological situation stabilizes in Europe, attention of policy makers and public is reverting back to the urgency of the climate crisis. Aviation is likely to emerge as the central target for European politicians and climate activists.
Swiss lawmakers have given a green light to a proposal for a levy of between $32 to $126 per air ticket for departing passengers. In our upcoming study we assess the implication of this policy on travel markets and broader climate policy.
